So far this summer...
First of all, Ris and I are convinced that we live in the twilight zone. When most of the other students leave for the summer or graduate, the mix that is left is rare. Also, working in a place like Shadeland always keeps it interesting. There were 3 stabbings in 10 days in Lafayette. One guy got shot by the Neon Cactus while withdrawing money from the ATM. The shooter got away with 40 bucks. Sick. This place is turning into Gary or maybe "Valpa".
So Carissa and I went to go see Kati and Chris in San Diego. They live on Coronado Island, which is an awesome location. It's an island of about 30,000 people and only a bridge away from downtown San Diego. I want to move to San Diego after I graduate. Hopefully I can make it happen.
Kati and Chris have an awesome relationship. It's one that everyone hopes for so it's not hard to see why they got married. They are both in it for the long run. I think that some of the guys I have dated in the past are far too selfish and obviously not my type. I'm 22 and I still don't know what my type is. At least I have figured out what I don't want: only children are bad news, alcoholic split personalities are bad, jealousy is bad and guys without a steady job or without real life goals are bad. At least I know that much.
Carissa and I both graduate in December, which is getting to be a really scary realization. Becoming real people with real jobs? Also, my sister is due December 17th, so I'm finally going to be Aunt Meli. I've been bugging her to get pregnant since her wedding day, which was 3 years ago. So I am more than excited about it. I am a little upset that she is due in December and I will most likely be leaving sometime in January...if I get a job, that is. A lot of people who graduated in May don't have jobs yet...but I think I have a strong resume and even stronger ambition.
Well, that's all for now. We have become kind of boring people...working, laying out, reading like dorks...with alcohol to make it a little spicy. That's our summer....but there's more to come I'm sure. So stay tuned.
